Pat Baty Receives Paul Harris Fellow Recognition |
Feb 04, Rotarians of the Wasaga Beach Club and their spouses gathered at Marilyn Ruttan's home for a cosy winter fireside meeting. The social was set up as a pot-luck, and Rotarian Rick had made sure, that A-B brought salads, C-R a main dish and S-Y the dessert (Ask Rick how that works, but somehow it did). Equipped with plenty of yummy food and liquid refreshments the Rotarians enjoyed the wonderful evening and chatted the time away. But President Ron had more on his mind: Nobody knew what it was, however, everybody was certain it must be something quite important. |

Pat Baty caught by surprise |
Ron thanked Marilyn for her outstanding hospitality, and he explained how Rotary International recognizes individuals who make great contributions towards the organization. Finally he called up Pat Baty, who was totally caught by surprise, and awarded her the Paul Harris Fellow recognition. Pat, Rotarian Eric's wife, has been a very strong supporter of and contributer to our Club's fundraising activities. She and a very determined committee have made the annual Wasaga Beach Rotary Gala not only a major community event but also the Club's largest single fundraiser. Of the hands of President Ron, Pat received the Paul Harris Fellow commemorative certificate, the Paul Harris Fellow pin and medallion. |
