Wasaga Beach Rotarians Donate to Sick Kids |
|
Sick Kids in Toronto is the hope for many children from all over Ontario, Canada and even the World. Treatments and surgical procedures that aren't available anywhere else help kids recover from the most critical conditions. Wasaga Beach Rotarians Ross and Mary Anne Gough, owners of Beach Design 'N Print, donated all their excellent graphic design work and the printing for our 2005 Rotary Gala and asked the Rotary Club to make a donation to Sick Kids Research Fund instead. The gracious contribution was $2,500, and the Rotary Club decided to top it up to $3,000. More... |

Aug 29, 05 - District Governor Ron Strickland's Visit |
|
A great turnout at the Beacon Restaurant on August 29, 2005: Wasaga Beach Rotarians, spouses and guests cordially welcomed 7010 District Governor Ron Strickland and his wife Lynn. The Beacon crew put on a very nice lunch, and Club President Henning Geiler in his report introduced the Governor to our Club activities, fundraisers and projects. DG Ron thanked all Rotarians and their families for the time and effort that is being put into successful local fundraisers such as the Corvette Lottery and the annual Rotary Gala Dinner. Also present at the meeting was Assistant District Governor Kim Tranter of Collingwood. DG Ron was presented with our traditional Rotary gift, as usual provided by Honorary Member and Charter President Karl Fuhre. More... |

Following the parade we checked out the Friendship Hall market area and managed to spend some money and pick up lots of reading materials. More... |

Dec 16, 2004 - Hey, We Had A New Santa... |
| Santa Claus, President Martin & Elf Mary (left) |
|---|
 | | Santa Claus was in town, but guess what: Nobody could tell us what happened to the old Santa, but this one wasn't a new kid on the block either: With his appearance, freshly shaved and groomed, he looked more like a career politician rather than the real Santa. Well, the first impression was not right: His forceful "Ho Ho Hos" echoed from the Beacon walls, and indeed he brought nice gifts and poems for the Rotarians and their spouses. More... |
