Merry Christmas |
Dec 15, 2003 President Bob welcomed the Club members, their spouses and many guests to our Rotary Christmas Function at the Beacon Restaurant. |
Holiday Spirits and a Wonderful Dinner |
Rotarians and their friends opened the function with the National Anthem, "O Canada", the Rotary Prayer and a Toast to the Queen and Canada. Guy Puccini and his busy Elves had prepared a delicious multi-course Christmas Dinner. Expections were high: Rumours were that Santa had left his North Pole residence a few days early to squeeze in a brief visit at the Beacon (He is on a busy schedule you gotto know). |

Santa Arrives |
Finally: Patience pays. There he was. His presence filled the room. Well, to make a long story short: Have a look at the image galleries... Many thanks to Elf Mary Watson who this year again read out all poems that the Club members had written for their fellow Rotarians. And thanks to Elf Pat Baty who organized the logistics: She made sure that every child got its gift. And let's not forget to thank Santa who not only did a marvelous job but also paid the ultimate price: A tragic combination of excessive laughter, red wine and unfavourable climatic conditions under his beard slowly but surely lead to his decomposition until there was nothing else left than a pair of black boots. |

Rotary Christmas Function, Image Gallery, Part III More Rotarians sitting on Santa's lap plus don't miss Santa slowly deteriorate. Bad news, kids: We need a new Santa. This one doesn't work anymore.
