Jun 26, 2004 - 20th Club Anniversary and Changeover |
| 2003-04 President Bob Gruzuk and 1984 Charter President Karl Fuhre Sen. infront of the original "Hotel Waldhorn" sign, the Club's first meeting place. |
|---|
 | | The evening of Saturday, June 26th was a particularly special occasion for our club.
The hall at the Wasaga Stars Arena had been beautifully decorated to receive close to sixty members, partners and guests as we combined our Annual Changeover Night with a celebration of our club's twentieth anniversary.
Among those attending were four Charter Members, eleven past presidents and several special guests. It was particularly meaningful to have Charter President Karl Fuhre Sr. and his wife Ruth along with his son Karl Jr., our President in 1987 and his wife Jacqui seated at a table in the middle of the hall. |

Past District Governor David Christie and Dr. Don Paul, resplendent in their tuxedos and accompanied by their wives Katie and Joan, were very welcome guests. These two long time Rotarians from our sponsoring club in Collingwood put many hours into helping with the formation of our club and had been head table guests at our Charter Night twenty years ago. |

Passing On The Gavel |
| "Centennial" President Martin Jurgeit taking over office from President Bob Gruzuk. |
|---|
 | | The staff from our regular meeting place, the Beacon, catered a delicious and well-presented meal following which, President Bob gave out a number of President's Attendance Citation awards.
President Bob then spoke to our successes over the past year before investing incoming President Martin with his Chain of Office and turning over the gavel and bell for the ensuing Rotary year. President Martin then introduced his new executive and thanked the club for the opportunity to assume this respected office. |

Two Awesome Young Students: |
| Youth exchange chair Ron Puccini (center), exchange students. |
|---|
 | | Past President Ron made special presentations to Rotary Exchange students Tiffany and Gonza.
Tiffany has recently returned from her sojourn to the Philippines while Gonza is in his last month before returning home to Argentina.
Both these young people are wonderful examples of the value of this program. Awesome. |

Paul Harris Fellowship Presentation |
| Paul Harris Fellows: Doug Culham, George Watson, Bruce Young |
|---|
 | | Rotarian Walter gave a brief but meaningful background on three individuals who were in attendance. He then called on President Martin to present Paul Harris Fellowship Awards to Doug Culham, a pioneer member of our business community and active volunteer in many aspects of our Town; and to Past President George Watson and Rotarian Bruce Young for their outstanding dedication, commitment and contributions to both Rotary and our community. |
|
|
|
Those in attendance shared a time of fellowship before departing, reminiscing on things past and looking forward eagerly to the next phase of our journey in Rotary. To borrow Gonza's phrase once more it was a "totally awesome" evening.
