A Report from Chicago
Parade Floats
Our first convention is going great. Cathy, Katie and I attended the Rotary Centennial Parade on Saturday. It lasted for nearly 2 hours with over 100 different floats and bands. Following the parade we checked out the Friendship Hall market area and managed to spend some money and pick up lots of reading materials.
Polio Walk
Marilyn, Cathy & Katie
This morning we rose early to take part in the Polio Walk/Run. There was approx. 100 runners and approx. 5000 walkers. At one point all we could see while rounding a corner was walkers in both directions for as far as you could see. This was Katies first walk and she really enjoyed it. She finished the 5km at least 30 minutes before Cathy and I. The extra donation from our club towards the Polio Walk was very appreciated.
Mr. Pin & Katie Ruttan

Katie and I attended the Opening Plenary Session from 4:30 to 6:30. We managed to have front and center seats only 4 rows from the stage. (Katie moves quickly when she needs to). The city of Chicago is great as is the weather and of course the shopping. We have booked the Outlet Center tour for tomorrow and then on Tuesday we have a 3 hour tour of Rotary Headquarters.
